What is the host’s role in having a Hope Uncorked event? The role of the host is simple – you probably do it already. Pick a date, location and time. Invite your friends, family, clients or co-workers. Pick up a little something for everyone to eat and your favorite wines. We’ll send you the rest. Here are the 10 simple steps:

Every Hope Uncorked® kit is assembled specifically for the number of guests attending your event and includes:

As much as we’d like to be there, we simply cannot attend because of the number of events around the country. We genuinely appreciate the time and effort you are investing in Fertile Hope and invite you to share your Event Highlights & Photos with us, so that we can get a glimpse of how great your event was! Can you help us find a speaker for our event? Yes! There are many potential speakers for your event, including local cancer survivors with stories about infertility and parenthood after cancer, those who have benefited from Fertile Hope’s financial assistance program or medical professionals in your area with a passion and expertise for the cause. Please Contact Us for help securing a speaker. Can we use the Hope Uncorked logo? Hope Uncorked is a registered trademark that you can use for your event provided that you follow our usage guidelines and send a copy of how you plan to use it for your event for pre-approval to logo@hopeuncorked.com. It is very important that we approve the logo usage before you use it. Please Contact Us to request the logo files for your use. What if I don’t know anything about wine? The Hope Uncorked kit is a great way to learn about wine – for you and your guests! Enjoying wine is really about following your senses and discovering what you like and what you don’t. The kit comes with everything you and your guests need to know to enjoy the event from a Hope Uncorked Handbook to Wine Tasting Tips. Why are guests required to donate $25? Similar to other nonprofit events, each guest purchases a ticket for $25, $10 of which is a tax deductible charitable donation, to participate in Hope Uncorked. The balance is used to cover the costs of running the program. Each guest receives a goody bag, awareness materials from Fertile Hope and a one-year subscription to the Condé Nast magazine of their choice. Why is the host required to donate $25 as well? We thought a lot about this and solicited a lot of feedback to help answer the question: should the host donate or not? Ultimately, everyone agreed that the host should lead by example and support the cause before asking others to do the same. We hope you agree and Register As A Host. What if I want to pay for my guests? Currently, it is not possible for a host to pay for their guests. Please check back with us in early Fall for this option to be in effect. What if I can’t meet my 6 person minimum (5 guests + host)? We cannot send kits out until a minimum of 6 people will be attending. Five days in advance of your event, you will be alerted if 5 people plus you, the host, have not registered. If your guests are unable to attend you will be given the option to cancel or reschedule your event. You will receive your kit 1-2 days before your event. Five days in advance of your party, our system tells us how many people will be attending. We assemble your kit and send it via 3-Day FedEx. Guests are welcome to RSVP up until the day of your party. Those who do so within the five day window will not receive their guest goodies, but they will receive their one-year subscription to their choice of select Condé Nast magazines. I want to support Fertile Hope, but don’t drink alcohol. Are there any wine tasting alternatives? Absolutely! Wine is just one of many ways to use the kit. Other ideas include fresh squeezed fruit and veggie juices, sodas, virgin cocktails, waters (infused, bottled, sparkling, etc.), nonalcoholic beer (some pregnant women’s favorites!), and so on. Let your imagination run wild and use the kit to best suit the tastes of you and your guests. Can I host more than one party? Yes, please! Host as many as you would like. Simply, Register As A Host and enter event information for as many events as you would like to host. Does Fertile Hope host its own Hope Uncorked events? Yes! Annually, Fertile Hope hosts three large-scale Hope Uncorked events in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. Our events include paired wine and food tasting stations, a grand silent auction, live music and inspirational speaking programs at exclusive venues. Your donations directly support Fertile Hope, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients whose medical treatments present the risk of infertility. Each guest purchases a ticket for $25 to attend your event and similar to attending any fundraising event, a portion pays for the cost of the event and the balance is tax deductible. Your contribution to Fertile Hope profoundly impacts people’s lives—now and for generations to come. More than $.85 of each dollar raised by the organization goes directly toward the programs that reach cancer patients nationwide. Your support gives cancer patients a reason to survive! |
