About Hope Uncorked

The Hope Uncorked wine tasting kit is a grassroots awareness campaign dedicated to helping cancer survivors fulfill their parenthood dreams.

Condé Nast asked the executives at Fertile Hope to come up with an idea to help raise awareness about important issues in cancer in a setting that appeals to our demographic across the country. Around the same time, we were hosting an event in San Francisco called Hope Uncorked, a fundraising event with a wine tasting theme.

While attending the event it hit us – if we could only package up tonight into a box so that everyone could have this much fun! We asked ourselves: what do we do with our friends on a regular basis? The majority of us agreed: we have them over for wine (and cheese, dinner or take out!) to catch up, watch our favorite TV shows and/or discuss hot new books. Thus, the idea for the Hope Uncorked kit was born.

Hosting a Hope Uncorked event is as simple as that: doing what you do already! We send you everything you need to host a simple wine tasting event (except the wine, of course!) and, simultaneously, provide you with the platform to raise awareness for a great cause that directly affects your peers – young adult cancer survivors.

How It Works

It’s easy! We’ve built a platform to do the work for you, so that all you have to do is buy the wine (or ask your guests to bring their favorite bottle!) and host your party.

Here are the 10 simple steps:

Register as a host
Pick a date, time and location
RSVP for your own party and pay your $25 ticket price, which includes a 1-year subscription to your choice of Cookie, Glamour, Gourmet, GQ or SELF Magazine (a $12 value)
Invite 5 people to attend (minimum = 5 guests + host)
Your guests RSVP online and pay their $25 ticket price to attend, which includes which includes a 1-year subscription to their choice of Cookie, Glamour, Gourmet, GQ or SELF Magazine (a $12 value)
Receive your signature Hope Uncorked kit, including fabulous event favors and Fertile Hope awareness materials.
Pick up any additional event supplies, including your favorite wines
Host your party

Who You’re Helping

Your participation directly supports Fertile Hope, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients whose medical treatments present the risk of infertility.

Your contribution to Fertile Hope profoundly impacts people’s lives—now and for generations to come. More than $.80 of each dollar raised by the organization goes directly toward the programs that reach cancer patients nationwide.

We are the only organization of our kind—solely dedicated to addressing cancer-related infertility and parenthood after cancer through programs that raise awareness, advance education, increase access to treatments and provide support. We deliver these programs free of charge to thousands of patients, survivors and healthcare professionals across the country. Fertile Hope has made a permanent mark on both the cancer and fertility worlds by highlighting the importance of this issue and delivering efficient, sustainable services to those in need.

With your help, Fertile Hope will make sure that your peers – the 2.5 million survivors in their childhood bearing age and the 140,000 newly diagnosed young cancer patients each year - find the information they need to make personal, educated decisions about their reproductive future.

There are many big issues in cancer that will take years and years to solve. In comparison, cancer-related fertility is simple. There are risks and there are solutions – solutions currently provided by the reproductive community that simply aren’t appropriately utilized.

We need your help to bridge the gap and solve the problem. Your support will help us achieve this long-term goal, and the impact will be profound – you are giving cancer patients a reason to survive!
